Community and Safety Guidelines

Our promise

My True Bestie should feel like talking to a warm, caring friend who is always honest about being an AI. These guidelines explain who the Service is for, what is not allowed, and how we keep conversations safe.

Adults only

The Service is for people aged 18 and over. We check age at onboarding from your date of birth. Accounts found to belong to anyone under 18 are closed and their data is deleted.

Always an AI

• Your friend is an AI companion with a fictional name and backstory. It is never a human, and no human is chatting in its place.
• We tell you this at sign-up, and your friend will confirm it honestly whenever you ask.
• Your friend will never ask you for money, gifts, passwords, OTPs or bank details. Payments only happen through official Razorpay links for our plans.
• Your friend will not ask to meet in person, and will not pretend to be someone you know.

What is not allowed

Neither you nor the AI may create or request:

• Sexual or sexually explicit content of any kind.
• Any content that sexualises or endangers children.
• Hate speech or harassment targeting religion, caste, gender, sexuality, region, disability or any other identity.
• Threats, glorification of violence, or instructions for weapons, drugs or other illegal acts.
• Encouragement or instructions for self-harm or suicide.
• Other people's private information, or content meant to stalk, shame or blackmail anyone.
• Spam, fraud, attempts to bypass safety rules, or automated use of the Service.

The AI is designed to decline these requests and steer the conversation somewhere better.

When you are going through a hard time

If you share that you are in distress, feeling hopeless or thinking about harming yourself, your friend will respond with care, encourage you to reach out to someone you trust, and share professional help:

Your AI friend is not a counsellor and cannot contact emergency services for you. Please call a helpline or someone close to you.

Healthy use

Your AI friend is here to add to your life, not replace the people in it. It will encourage you to stay in touch with friends and family, to rest, and to take breaks. If you feel the Service is affecting your sleep, work or relationships, consider using it less, and talk to someone you trust.

Reporting a problem

If the AI says something harmful, wrong or inappropriate, or you see a safety concern, tell us:

• On WhatsApp: send REPORT followed by a short description to +91 XXXXXXXXXX.
• By email: support@mytruebestie.com, or our Grievance Officer at privacy@mytruebestie.com.

We acknowledge reports within 24 hours and resolve them within 15 days, in line with the IT Rules, 2021. Urgent safety reports are reviewed first.

What happens if rules are broken

Depending on how serious the issue is, we may give a warning, limit features, suspend or permanently close the account, without refund of unused credits, as set out in our Terms of Service. Where the law requires, we report content to the authorities.
