How to delete your data
You can ask us to delete all personal data linked to your WhatsApp number at any time. Choose either option:
Option 1: on WhatsApp (fastest)
Send the message DELETE MY DATA to My True Bestie at +91 XXXXXXXXXX from the number you used with the Service. We reply to confirm the request.
Option 2: by email
Email privacy@mytruebestie.com with the subject "Delete my data" and include the WhatsApp number you used. To protect your account, we send a confirmation message to that WhatsApp number before deleting.
What we delete
- Your profile: name, gender, date of birth and friend preference.
- All stored messages, voice note transcripts and any remaining voice note audio.
- Memory notes and conversation summaries about you.
- Your remaining message credits and call minutes, which cannot be restored after deletion.
What we keep, and why
- Payment and invoice records (amount, date, order and payment IDs), which we must keep under tax and accounting laws.
- A one-way hash of your phone number, kept only so the free trial cannot be claimed again. It cannot be used to read your chats or contact you.
- Records we are required to keep by law or for an ongoing legal claim or investigation.
Timeline and confirmation
We complete deletion within 7 days of your confirmed request, including from our active systems. Encrypted backups roll over and are fully cleared within 30 days. When deletion is complete, we send a final confirmation message on WhatsApp (or by email if you asked by email) with a reference number.
Automatic deletion
Even if you never ask, we automatically delete your messages, memory notes and profile 3 months after your last activity.
Chats on your phone and WhatsApp
Deleting your data with us does not remove the chat history stored on your own phone. To clear it, open the chat in WhatsApp, tap the menu and choose Clear chat or Delete chat. Data held by WhatsApp itself is governed by WhatsApp's privacy policy.
